How does pipe relining work?

Pipe relining repairs damaged pipes from the inside, allowing many sewer and drainage problems to be fixed without excavating and replacing the existing pipe.

The first step is identifying the location and extent of the damage. The affected pipe is inspected and prepared so its condition can be assessed and any obstructions or debris can be removed.

A flexible liner coated with resin is then positioned within the damaged section of pipe. The liner is expanded against the internal wall of the existing pipe and cured, forming a strong new lining inside it.

Once cured, the repaired section is checked to confirm the liner is correctly positioned and the pipe is ready to return to service.

The exact process can vary depending on the pipe, location and relining system being used.

What problems can pipe relining repair?

Pipe relining can be an effective solution for several common types of pipe damage. Depending on the condition and construction of the existing pipe, relining may be suitable for:
